Beachcomber is at the forefront of New Jersey Campgrounds with its decision to install a solar array to power the registration/store complex this season. This decision affirms our dedication to be an environmentally responsible organization in tapping a renewable energy source. Our plans in the near future include the installation of Solar Panels on the shop and several of our Bathhouses. Here is some other general information you should know!
               

Beachcomber expects to have the store powered by the Solar Panels in the next 12 days, installation of the Solar Panels should begin on June 1st or the 2nd. The great thing about the Solar Panels is that they have no moving parts and require very little maintenance, and when the panels are installed and the system is up and running, it will be generating about 50 kilowatts of electricity. This will power about 40% of the store / registration areas’ electrical needs! (We had hoped for 100% but our roof was too small!) Below are the Steps taken to get the Solar Panels up and running:
